What are company secretarial services?
Limited companies are required to fulfil certain administrative tasks to comply with the Companies Act and these would nominally be the responsibility of the company secretary. However, most companies do not employ someone full-time in that position and use a company of accountants to carry out most of the necessary work.
What types of administrative tasks are required?
The accountants’ address would often be used as the company’s registered address and they would carry out work like the drafting of agendas and compilation of minutes for board meetings, and the maintenance of all statutory registers, like the Register of Members and the Register of Directors. In addition, there is the annual requirement to file the company’s Annual Confirmation Statement with Companies House (previously known as an Annual Return).
